I know I sometimes complain about the cold Alberta winters but looking out my window inspired me.
The trees were so beautiful with snow covered branches.
I played around and came up with this pretty nail art design.
It is a super simple design and the only tool you need is a toothpick.
Here is what you need:
- DarkNail Polish (Black, Green, Blue)
- GlitterNail Polish (optional)
- Makeupsponge (optional)
Apply a basecoat to protect the nails and prevent the nail polish from chipping. Apply the lightblue polish.
This step is optional: Apply whitepolish to the corner of a makeupsponge, dab onto nails going from the tip towards the centre. This will give the look of snow banks. Let completely dry.
Using a toothpick or a dotting tool dipped in a darkpolish, make a long vertical line down the nail. Then make smaller horizontal lines across the vertical line, going smaller up the nail.
Using a toothpick lightly dipped in whitepolish, gently dab whitepolish in between each dark line. You don’t want too much nail polish on the toothpick. It’s kind of like dotting but with hardly any polish on the tool.
Apply a few white dots for falling snow. (Optional) Apply a glitterpolish to the nails.
Apply a generous amount of topcoat to protect your manicure and give it a glossy shine.
