How to Apply Mascara Correctly

Even on the days when I feel like I’m short for time, I will usually still apply a nude lip and mascara.

Mascara makes your eyes look brighter and full of life, and the lip color adds a little color to your face. All you need is half a minute and you will still look put together!

Even when you’re able to apply your makeup, the final touches of mascara will complete your look but an improper application can ruin your look.

If your mascara is clumpy, uneven, or smudged – it may end up looking appalling rather than appealing.

Here are a few things that can be followed when applying mascara:

– Be sure to apply mascara with zigzag movements from side to side and then pulling upward

– Apply mascara from roots to tips. Having the lashes in place from roots to the tips makes lashes appear longer

– For a wide-eyed look, apply mascara over both upper and lower lashes. If you are like me and don’t like mascara on lower lashes, apply mascara only slightly on the side lashes

– You can use a mascara comb or an old mascara brush after applying mascara to remove any clumps and separate the lashes

- To prevent clumpy lashes, wipe the mascara wand against the neck of the bottle to remove any excess product. Apply one coat of mascara to the lashes, let dry and apply one more coat

– If you have a slippery hand and end up with mishaps like smudges, remove any excess mascara by using a clean cotton swab on the area but be sure to let mascara dry first for easy removal

- If you find your curl doesn’t stay, curl lashes with an eyelash curler. Apply mascara, let mascara dry. Curl the lashes once more and apply another coat of mascara. This trick should help the lashes stay curled for longer

Hope these tips are helpful for your next mascara application!
