As the spring weather is upon us, I am noticing my skin has been really dry lately.

And you probably already know that I always try to opt for the more natural, less expensive remedies to use.

Here are some tips I have found helpful for relieving dry skin:

•    Drink lots of water, this will help keep your body hydrated and can alleviate dry skin.
(Eight to ten glasses is the minimum quantity, but you can drink more than that.)

·        This remedy dates back to thousands of years ago when queens bathed in milk. They knew what they were doing, soaking in a tub filled with milk and warm water can do wonders for skin!

·        Before going for a bath, rub some honey all over your body and leave it on for five to ten minutes. Honey is one of the best natural moisturizers.

·        Coconut oil is also really good for treating dry skin. Rub some onto your body after a shower.

·        Baby lotion is one of the best moisturizing lotions for dry skin. Moisturizing lotions for adults often contain other chemicals that may actually make your skin drier.

·        You can also rub some oatmeal on your hands before washing them. Blend some baking soda, oatmeal, and vanilla extract in to a paste, rub on hands for a great scrub and rinse off.

·        Hot water can really dry the skin try using warm water showers instead.

·        Switching to natural soaps that do not contain any harmful chemicals can really make a big difference.

·        Suffer from dry and cracked heels? Rub the inside of a banana peel on your heels and the dry skin disappears.

·        Bananas can also be used to treat dry skin on your face and neck. Mash a banana (ripe ones work better) and apply it like a face pack. After 5 – 10 minutes wash your face with warm water.

·        Spices such as turmeric, cumin, and coriander help to soothe and relieve dry skin.

·        Include plenty of fruit in your diet.

·        Make a paste out of avocados and apply it all over your body to nourish your skin.

·        Hot water can really dry the skin try using warm water showers instead.

·        Get a good night’s sleep. Your body requires around six to eight hours of sleep every night. Lack of sleep really affects the skin.
