New year, new you. That is what I tell myself…
I hope I’m not the only one guilty slacking on my beauty routine,
over-purchasing products, and committing skincare ‘no-nos.’
Changing habits isn’t something that happens overnight, it
is something that is developed over time and requires repetition, which makes
it hard to get out of the bad habits.
Beauty resolutions are easy to incorporate into your
everyday life, but they will also make you feel better about yourself and can impact
your confidence.
ALWAYS USE SPF
Rain or shine, Wind and snow, it’s good to take the
extra precaution to apply a sunscreen or product with SPF protection because it
will save you from dark spots and sun damage years down the line.
These products have lightweight formulas that can be
applied underneath makeup: Kiehl's Since 1851 Ultra Facial MoisturizerSPF 30, Burt's Bees Renewal Day Lotion, PhysiciansFormula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Work It!
AVOID EXCESSIVE MAKEUP
For beauty-lovers, makeup application is a form of art.
My pores seem to rebel if I don’t give them a break every
once in a while.
Instead of wearing a full face of makeup to the grocery
store, I’m going to opt for something lighter.
BB creams and tinted moisturizers provide just as much
coverage without the caked-on feel.
My favorites include: SMASHBOX Camera Ready BB Cream,
RimmelBB Cream, Garnier SkinActive Miracle Skin Perfector BBCream
THROW OUT OLD PRODUCTS
My husband doesn’t understand how I accumulate so many
products, and sometimes I don’t know how I do either.
It’s probably because I never want to get rid of anything.
In 2018, I’m starting with a clean slate - clean out drawers
of half-used products, and throw out ANYTHING that has been open for more than
6 months.
Organization is my new best friend.
NO MORE BAD HABITS
I don’t want my bad beauty habits to accompany me into the
new year.
I know it won’t happen right away but I can set reminders or
write things down so the next time I catch myself biting my nails, I’ll
hopefully know to stop.
NO MORE EXCUSES
Your skin goes through a lot during the day, from UV rays to
pollution, harsh weather conditions.
Skipping out on my nightly beauty routine will only lead to
more problems later on.
This New Year, I’m not making excuses for slacking on
skincare because I’m only hurting myself.
What are your beauty
resolutions for 2018?
