Lash Lift & Tint Review

If I was marooned on a desert island and could only take one thing, it might be mascara.

I have pretty good natural lashes but they can be straight and pointy sometimes and I was noticing a lot more breakage when using my eyelash curler.
At this point, I’m not interested in extensions so I’ve been thinking about trying the lash lift procedure for some time.

I decided it was time to give the lash lift a try.

What is a Lash Lift?

It’s like a perm for your natural eyelashes.

A semi-permanent solution is applied to lift and curl the lashes from the base of the lash.

It’s often paired with an eyelash tint, to enhance the defining effect. When finished, your eyes look larger, lashes look longer and fuller, and your entire face looks uplifted.

What are the Steps in a Lash Lift?

It was a surprisingly relaxing experience for me.

I was lying down on my back on a bed similar to a massage bed and my eyes were closed most of the time.

There was relaxing music playing in the background.
The whole process took almost an hour.

Here are the steps:
- The eyes and lashes are thoroughly cleaned.

- An undereye gel patch is placed on lower lashes to prevent them from curling up along with the upper lashes.

- Soft silicone roller are placed on the upper eyelids to hold the lashes in place while the perm solution is applied.

- The lashes are thoroughly and carefully combed over the silicone roller.

- A perming solution is applied to prepare the lashes for curling. This takes 10-15 minutes. The solution is removed with cotton gauze.

- A setting solution is applied to the lashes, and they’re lifted upwards over the silicone pads. This takes 10-15 minutes. The solution is removed with cotton gauze.

- Optional: A lash tint is applied.

The color depends on the natural color of your lashes and what color you want. My lashes are already pretty dark, so my technician chose a blue/black tint. It stays on for about 10 minutes.

- The lash tint is removed, and the lashes are thoroughly cleaned with nourishing oil.

- The lashes are combed, and the silicone rollers are removed.

Lash Lift Aftercare

The aftercare process was quite easy, my technician gave me a mascara spoolie (brush) to brush the lashes after sleeping or having a nap.

Water, cleansing product, or makeup cannot touch the lashes for 24 hours following the lash lift.

After that time, you can use your normal mascara; waterproof mascara is discouraged because removal can be too harsh.

An eyelash curler will not be needed, and the use of one could damage the lashes.

Avoid rubbing or applying force to the lashes.

Lashes can’t be exposed to heat for at least 48 hours after the procedure.

How long will the Lash Lift last?

Typically a lash lift will last 6-8 weeks depending on your lashes and after care. As it wears off, lashes gradually drop evenly and go back to their natural look.

How much does a Lash Lift Cost?

My lash lift paired with a tint was $100 CAD.

My Thoughts

I did have some breakage on my left lashes from using an eyelash curler but my technician said if I continued to get lash lifts I would have less breakage because I won’t be using an eye lash curler regularly.

I love how my lashes are always curled and the tint helps make it look like I'm wearing mascara even though I'm not!

I love my Lash Lift and would definitely do it again!
